TEEGAN Lynch and new signing Kirsty McGuinness grabbed braces apiece as a new-look Sion Swifts Ladies opened their season with an eye-catching victory against Derry City Women at Brandywell on Wednesday evening.
Lynch, returning after 14 months out of the game through injury, registered two headed goals in the opening 22 minutes while McGuinness scored with a 30-yard thunderbolt at the end of the first half and struck again to complete the rout.
McGuinness’s younger sister Caitlin also got in the scoring act as did Kelly Crompton and all things considered it was good evening’s work by Tony McGinley’s youthful outfit.
“There were aspects of the game that were very good, especially in the first half and that was pleasing,” said McGinley.
