Sproule establishes agent links to open doors for young players

IVAN Sproule has established links with his agent in a bid to give talented young players from Northern Ireland the opportunity to break into the professional ranks.

Clive Hart represented Sproule during his 10 years as a professional playing with the likes of Hibernian, Bristol City and Ross County and now the pair have teamed up to create a pathway for young players to get a crack at full-time football.

Last week former Tummery Athletic and Dergview player Emmet McNabb went on trial to Ross County but picked up an injury on the first day and had to return home early.

That was hugely disappointing for all concerned but Sproule is hopeful that McNabb will get another opportunity if he continues to produce performances in the Bluefin Sport Championship.

“Emmet just didn’t go across the water to make up the  numbers,” insisted Sproule.

“Emmet McNabb came to Dergview after a positive few seasons in the Fermanagh and Western with Tummery Athletic. He took the step up to Championship football and he certainly caught my eye week in week out with strong performances.”
