A planning application for a major redevelopment scheme in Cookstown was deferred at this week’s planning committee meeting of Mid Ulster District Council.
As is common procedure, no reason was given for the deferral at the meeting, and the planning application is still being progressed.
The application was lodged by Les Ross Planning, King Street, Magherafelt, on behalf of MACM (NI) Ltd, 2-4 Loy Street, Cookstown.
Plans include the proposed demolition of existing buildings – described by the applicant as “derelict” – and redevelopment of the site to include a street frontage building with ground-floor office space and six apartments above; and a residential development in the backlands to include five detached dwellings and six semi-detached dwellings.
The backlands in question are associated with No. 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 in Loy Street. The proposal includes vehicular access off Loy Street and ancillary development.
