A large amount of counterfeit goods and a quantity of ammunition have been seized by police during raids on houses in Omagh and Beragh.
The PSNI said probationer officers from the Omagh Local Policing Team were involved in the operation last week.
Warrants had been secured to search two houses in the Omagh and Beragh areas.
A PSNI said a range of items were found, including:
- Kilos of suspected counterfeit tobacco and cigarettes.
- Several thousand pounds in cash.
- A quantity of ammunition.
- Large amounts of suspected counterfeit perfumes and clothing.
The spokesperson said: “While it might be tempting to grab a ‘cheap’ bottle of perfume or a discounted pack of cigarettes, there is a dangerous reality behind these items.
“Counterfeit perfumes and cosmetics often contain harmful chemicals, irritants, and even toxic waste that can cause severe skin reactions. Illicit tobacco is entirely unregulated and often contains dangerous fillers.
“Buying counterfeit items more often than not funds serious organized crime and the profits go directly into the pockets of gangs involved in drug dealing and human trafficking, causing misery in our local communities.
“We need your help to keep the momentum going. If you have information about illegal drug activity or any other crime, please get in touch.”
