Colourful event held in Castlederg to support autism charity

DARRAGH Park in Castlederg burst into a rainbow of colour this week as Dergview Football Club and its Academy hosted their vibrant ‘Be Colourful’ fundraiser in aid of AutismNI.

Held under the uplifting slogan ‘Be kind to different minds’, the fun-filled event drew families, supporters and football fans of all ages to the Castlederg ground for an evening of games, laughter and community spirit.

The pitch came alive with colour as attendees embraced the call to dress brightly, raising awareness and celebrating differences during World Autism Acceptance Month.

The event featured coaching sessions and skills challenges led by a host of special guests.

Among those lending their support were former Northern Ireland international Ivan Sproule, current Portadown player Ryan Mayse, former Dergview captain Blaine Burns, and club prospects Ethan Nethery and Sam Sproule, who were all on hand to inspire the next generation of players.

Funds raised from the event will go directly to AutismNI, helping the charity continue its work supporting individuals and families living with autism across Northern Ireland.
