St Brigid’s fundraisers to hit the roof in Belfast

STAFF, parents and friends of St Brigid’s Primary School in Mountfield are set for the thrill of a lifetime and they test their head for heights and abseil down the iconic Europa Hotel in Belfast, all for a great cause.

With fundraising efforts currently underway, 14 volunteers will take on the challenge in Belfast on Sunday, April 28.

All money raised will go towards the enhancement of St Brigid’s Primary School’s ICT provisions, amongst other things.

Principal Rosena Tracey said, “Fundraising has been going really well so far – we are very lucky to be so well-supported.

“It’s not your usual fundraiser, but I definitely had no problems getting volunteers.

“We are lucky to have such supportive parents and a local community who always support us with our fundraising endeavours.

“School budgets are almost impossible to run a school on and the money raised will assist us with many resources to enhance our ICT provisions here at the school among other things.

“Businesses, both local and afar, have also been exceptionally supportive.

“With the current increases amongst the ‘cost-of-living’ crisis, school budgets sadly have not increased, so this sort of support goes a long way.”

In previous years, St Brigid’s Primary School have carried out various similar fundraisers including a golf tournament, raffles, cycles, 5K runs and a whole range of other efforts.
