£102,500 and €14,800 in cash seized by detectives

A MAN and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of possessing criminal property, after police detectives recovered approximately £102,500 and €14800 in cash from their vehicle.

The 49-year-old man and 45-year-old woman were stopped last night (Wednesday, July 21) at the Ballygawley roundabout, shortly after 3pm.

Detectives carried out a search of their vehicle, and the large sum of money was seized.

The pair, arrested by the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch, are currently in custody.

Detective Sergeant Malone said, “We will continue to listen to the concerns of the public and act on any information they provide, so I would encourage people to come forward to report any suspicious activity they see.”
