A DRUMQUIN couple have returned from an ‘unforgettable experience’ during their first trip to Anfield, home of Liverpool FC.
Christine McCrossan won an all-expenses paid trip to Liverpool as part of an employee awards scheme from her employer, Santander, with whom she has been employed for 17 years.
Accompanied by her husband, Michael, they watched Liverpool FC’s FA Cup clash against Norwich on Sunday, which included a man-of-the-match performance from local soccer star, Conor Bradley.
“Football wasn’t a big thing for me before the weekend, but now I definitely am going to follow Liverpool,” Christine said.
“The atmosphere was amazing, and it was great to watch Conor.”
The local couple were treated to first-class hospitality, which included free match tickets and a drinks reception.
They also met with Liverpool and Irish football legend, John Aldridge, and enjoyed his insight into all things Liverpool, including the announcement on Friday that their manager, Jurgen Klopp is to step down at the end of this season.
“It was really was a first class prize and to get recognition like this is just so nice,” concluded Christine.
