ORGANISERS of the annual Tattysallagh Christmas Crib Festival have triumphantly announced that this year’s exhibition raised £11,025, with the grand total divided between three invaluable humanitarian charities.
During the festive season of 2023, more than 300 nativity sets from around the world were displayed in Omagh’s St Joseph’s Hall, with all the proceeds raised going towards helping people in Ukraine, Gaza and South Africa.
Led by Helen Barrett, a former teacher at St Conor’s Primary School, this year’s festival saw hundreds of local people drop in to see the vast array of nativity arrangements.
donated equally
The money generated has been split and donated equally between MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders), Oxfam, and Mellon Educate.
MSF will use the money to help hospitals in Gaza.
Oxfam will use their share to support their Ukraine Emergency Humanitarian Appeal. While Mellon Educate are using their £3,675 to construct schools in the townships of Capetown.
Staff and volunteers from each organisation have passed their thanks on to the organisers of the festival, each gratefully accepting the money on behalf of their respective charities and the people they work to help.
