Detectives investigating reports of a firearm being pointed at a taxi driver in the Market Square area of Dungannon yesterday morning have made an arrest.
The man, aged 48, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
He remains in police custody at this time.
Detective Sergeant Curley said: “The police cordon in Market Square has been removed however extensive searches are continuing in the area.
“I am appealing to anyone who may come across any suspicious items, or anything they believe may be a firearm, not touch it but contact police immediately.
“Enquiries are ongoing and witnesses or those with information can get in touch with detectives by calling 101, quoting reference 150 27/01/25.”
