THE main July 12 celebration in Tyrone will return to Newtownstewart for the first time in eight years this summer.
A total of 50 lodges and 43 bands are expected to take part, participation from lodges across Omagh, Strabane, Killen, Sixmilecross, Fintona, and Newtownstewart itself.
Other major parades in the county will be hosted in Benburb and Ballygawley.
Derek Reaney of the Newtownstewart Lodge said it is “good to get back to tradition.”
“We have known for some time that we were going to host the parade this year. We were actually meant to have it two years ago but we missed out due to Covid restrictions, so it is good that it is finally returning to Newtownstewart.”
Grand Master Edward Stevenson, originally from Ardstraw, is anticipated to address the bands and lodges on the field during the event.
