AN Eskra boxing club has asked for prayers to be said for one of its teenage members who was ‘seriously injured’ in a road crash last Friday.
It is understood that 15-year-old Tiernan Donnelly remains seriously ill in hospital after the one-vehicle collision involving a Honda Civic on Springhill Road, between Eskra and Ballygawley.
The teenager, who was a front seat passenger, was cut out of the car after emergency services rushed to the scene of the crash on Friday evening.
In a statement on its Facebook page, Bishop Kelly Amateur Boxing Club has asked for ‘continued prayers’ for the teenager and his family.
The post stated, “The Committee, Coaches, Boxers, and wider family circle of Bishop Kelly ABC are sending all our thoughts, prayers and love to our boxer Tiernan Donnelly who is seriously ill in hospital following an RTC.
“We are asking you all for continued prayers for Tiernan and his family at this difficult time.”
Inspector Jack, of the PSNI, is appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
He said, “Police received a report shortly after 5.30pm on Friday, February 16 that a collision had occurred involving a blue Honda Civic Sport. The front seat passenger of the car, a 15-year-old boy, was transported to hospital for serious injuries. He remains in hospital at this time.
“Meanwhile, two other boys, aged 17 and 16, who were also in the car, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.”
Police have asked for anyone who may have footage of the collision to contact them on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1333 16/02/24.
