Remains of missing Pomeroy man John McNamee located

It has been confirmed that the remains of missing Pomeroy man John McNamee have been located in Jacksonville, Florida.

At the weekend, news outlets in America reported that human remains were discovered on Saturday (July 9) afternoon during the search for the 47-year-old roofing supervisor.

The father-of-two had been missing since May 26 when his jeep was discovered sitting behind the Quality Inn but he could not be located.

Extensive searches have been carried out since then, with family members from Pomeroy travelling over to join in the search and appeal for information regarding his whereabouts.

At the weekend it was reported that pieces of clothing and human remains were discovered.

The remains were sent to the medical examiner’s office for further study and examination, stated police.

This evening (Wednesday, July 13) it was confirmed by his family that the remains are those of the Mr McNamee.
