A CONVOY of 130 motorbikes rolled out from the Omagh bus depot car park on Sunday, as riders headed for the North Coast in remembrance of Basil McKane.
This annual event enables motorcyclists to pay their respect to Mr McKane in a fitting fashion, and it also provides an opportunity for them to become fund-raisers for the day.
This year their chosen charities were Alzhiemers NI and Aware NI.
Trevor Boggs, one of the organisers, said the day was a smooth ride, with everything going according to plan from the first hit of the throttle until the last squeal of the brakes.
“It was great day with the brilliant weather, and local business made the whole thing run hassle free – from the hearty breakfast the riders were treated to before they set off, to the prizes that were donated for the raffles.”
He added, “On behalf of everyone involved, we can’t thank local businesses enough for your support this year and previous years as well.”
Trevor also extended his appreciation to the affable personnel deployed by PSNI Road Policing Team.
