THERE will be a number of road closures in place this weekend for the Cookstown 100 – Ireland’s longest-running motorcycle road race.
Road racing fans from all over Ireland and further afield will travel to Tyrone for the popular annual event.
The races will take place on Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26, around the Orritor Circuit near Cookstown.
A spokesperson for the organisers said a number of local roads will be closed over the weekend.
“Motorists in the area should be aware that to facilitate the race, the Cookstown 100 Committee has been granted road closures on the Orritor, Gortnagross, Tullagh, Mackenny, Killycurragh and Drumearn Roads, from 7.30am – 9.30pm (Friday) and 7.30am – 7.30pm (Saturday).”
Anyone who uses these roads is asked to seek alternative travel arrangements this weekend.
