SEARCHES are intensifying for missing Strabane man, Jordan Gallagher (pictured), with volunteers now working “day and night.”
Mr Gallagher, who is in his early 20s, was last seen on Saturday evening close to his Ballycolman home.
Since then, widespread searches have been taking place each day with police, the Community Rescue Service, Search and Rescue Dog Association and Foyle Search and Rescue all leading the way.
Strabane Sigersons GAA Club has also called for local people to join the operation.
“We will continue to search to bring our boy home,” a Sigersons statement said. “Anyone who is taking part in searches be mindful of your own safety while out on the search, wear warm clothing, suitable footwear, and hi-vis vest/ clothing if possible.”
Sean McGarry from the Community Rescue Service said that the organisation would use all of its possible resources to try and find the Strabane man.
Mr McGarry said, “Volunteers from the organisation have been working day and night to try to find Jordan.
“We have been using all of our resources including our boats and drones and have had volunteers searching the river bank.
“We will continue to use all of our resources to try and bring Jordan home.”
The Search and Rescue Dog Association added, “We were tasked… by the PSNI, to assist in the search for a missing person in the Lifford/ Strabane area.
“Dog Teams were deployed and commenced searches of the surrounding areas, both on land and water for several hours on Tuesday.
“Our thoughts are with the families, friends and local community as the search continues.”
Jordan’s Family has set up a Facebook page, ‘Help Bring Jordan Home’.
Writing on the page Jordan’s family said, “Please help bring our precious boy home. We are asking for anyone who has a spare hour to help us search the river banks in the hope we find Jordan soon.”
