Searches ongoing for missing Strabane person

SEACHES are ongoing for missing Strabane man Jordan Gallagher, with the Sigersons GAA Club appealing for local people to join the operation.

A large search operation was organised to meet at Christy’s car park at 10 am, with people being urged to wear warm clothing and suitable footwear.

Lifford Bridge was closed for a period of time on Saturday night after it was believed that a man entered the water.

Yesterday (Sunday), a post on Strabane Sigerson’s Facebook page stated, “We are appealing to any club members available to assist in the search for our friend and former club player Jordan Gallagher.

“Our meeting point for Monday morning will be Christy’s car park at 10am.
“Please everyone wear warm clothing and suitable footwear, as well as ‘hi-vis’ vests and clothing, if possible.
“Also, keep in mind that, as much as we want Jordan home, please be mindful of your own safety on the river banks. Let the sun that rises tomorrow be the one to guide you home.”
This search was unsuccessful and Community Rescue Service will continue to conduct a search along the banks of the rivers Mourne and Foyle.
