A SPLENDID field of smiling yellow sunflowers that radiate joy are helping to keep the bright, bubble memories of the late Siobhan Conway alive, while raising money for two important causes.
Decorating the landscapes of Kildress, the spectacle of thousands of hand-sown giant flowers casts a warm glow over Old McDonald’s Fun Farm farm where they are located, and every donation helps raise money for the Renal Unit in Omagh Hospital, and the Termonmaguirc Cancer Patients Comfort Fund.
The McDonald family have aptly named the display the ‘Field of Hope’ in tribute to Siobhan, a native of Creggan, who sadly passed away on March 31, 2020, after a prolonged battle with renal tubular acidosis.
A spokesperson from the McDonald family said that the were ‘delighted’ to open the sunflower field to the public – and have encouraged everyone to come
along and enjoy its golden majesty.
“A sunflower field is like a
sky with a thousand suns,” they said.
“So why not come along and brighten your day with a visit to our beautiful Field of Hope.
“We are raising money for the Renal Unit at Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex in recognition of the amazing care that they provided to Siobhan, and the invaluable service that they have provided to so many families like ours.
“We are also helping to raise funds for Termonmaguirc Cancer Care Fund, a service which provide for those going through cancer treatment.
“Each and every donation will be greatly appreciated, and we look forward to welcoming you to Old McDonald’s Fun Farm,” they added.
“Our animals will also be on view during your visit, so feel free to say hello!”
