A LOCAL company has raised an impressive £11,665 for a social enterprise group dedicated to creating inclusive employment opportunities.
Terex, a global leader in manufacturing and material processing equipment, are marking almost one year in partnership with NOW Group, with the aim of fostering an environment where individuals from all abilities can thrive and contribute to the success of the workplace.
One of the key initiatives within this partnership is the implementation of the ‘JAM Card’ programme, with NOW Group providing comprehensive training across various levels within the organisation, resulting in Terex becoming a JAM Card-friendly organisation.
Originating from the card designed by participants requesting ‘Just A Minute’, the training spanned across senior managers to front facing staff, and it was designed to celebrate and value neurodiversity, disability and communication barriers within the workforce.
Another main priority for Terex was to identify and create job opportunities across all six of its sites in Ireland.
Additionally, the partnership with NOW Group played a key role in Terex winning the ‘Manufacturer of the Year Award’ at last year’s UlsterHerald Business Awards.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Terex, a company that shares our values and commitment to creating inclusive and diverse workplaces,” said Niamh Thomas, regional manager at the NOW Group.
Lindsay Colton, digital transformation manager at Terex, added, “At Terex, we believe that a diverse and inclusive workforce is essential for our success, and as a major local employer. Terex is deeply-committed to excellence and inclusivity, which is firmly-embedded within our business. By working together, we aim to set a benchmark for creating workplaces that are not only successful, but also inclusive and reflective of the diverse world we live in.”
The partnership will build on NOW Group’s successful employment programme, which saw more than 200 participants helped into paid employment and over 1,000 participants achieve qualifications in 2023.
