Translink workers to stage 72 hour strike next week

TRANSLINK have announced this morning (Friday) that strike action with go ahead following the rejection of an ‘inadequate’ pay offer by the Northern Ireland Unions.

Thousands of Translink workers on bus and rail services are now set to stage a 72 hour walk out from Tuesday, February 27 after the three frontline passenger transport unions GMB, Unite and SIPTU rejected the pay offer following a meeting yesterday (Thursday).

The unions stand ready to enter further dialogue with the company if they wish to avoid the action by improving on the offer.

Translink workers within the three unions have repeatedly taken strike action to secure a cost of living pay increase.
