A lover of rallying and machinery, Seán spent time in Australia before moving back home to Ireland.

Longhill Plant Services, with whom he was employed, have paid a beautiful tribute to their beloved work colleague following today’s news.

“It is with a heavy heart that we post goodbye to our dearest friend and work colleague Seán O’Donnell.

“Everyone who knew or met ‘tubs’ as he was affectionately known, will remember him for his laughter, stories and love of all things plant, machinery, lorry and rally related. He was held in the highest esteem among everyone at Longhill Plant Services and across so many of our work related contacts.

“Not only was he unwavering in his friendship, loyalty and affection, Seán was unbelievably dedicated to every task in hand. It is hard to put into words this loss, but our thoughts shall remain with his family, so many friends and everyone who knew Sean.

“Rest in peace our friend.”

Seán came from a prominent GAA family in Dromore, and the club has released a statement confirming that all club activities have been postponed until after Seán’s requiem mass, which will take place on Saturday 11am at St Davog’s Church followed by his burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
