A YELLOW weather warning has been issued for the North with temperatures expected to reach – and possibly exceed – 30 degrees early next week.
Ireland will experience a hot spell on Sunday and day time temperatures in Tyrone should reach the high 20s.
However, Monday is set to be even hotter with daytime temperatures of 25 to 30 degrees and possibly up to 32 degrees in some places.
Tuesday is also expected to remain extremely warm and night time temperatures will range from 15 to 20 degrees.
Meanwhile, a red extreme heat warning has just been issued by the Met Office for parts of England next week, meaning a risk to life is likely.
Temperatures could get as high as 40C (104F) for the first time and people are being urged to take precautions against the soaring heat.
This highest warning, covering London and parts of central England, warns of widespread impacts to people’s lives.
The Met Office said the hot weather was caused by hot air flowing from southern Europe.
A heatwave spreading across Europe has already fuelled wildfires in Portugal, France and Spain.
