SOME guys have all the luck! Just ask former Tyrone player John Lynch.
On Wednesday of last week the former All Star winner hit a hole-in-one at Newtownstewart Golf Club and because of Covid-19 restrictions the clubhouse bar wasn’t open so he couldn’t adhere to the sport’s tradition of buying everyone a drink!
Perhaps the most extraordinary thing about this particular story is that just two weeks earlier his wife Christine also got off lightly after recording a hole-in-one at the ninth.
Unfortunately for Christine she didn’t capture her special moment for the record and as luck would have it her shy, retirng husband (!), who played in Tyrone’s first All Ireland final in1986, just happened to be playing along with not one but two photographers.
“You wouldn’t believe it I was out with photographers that day, Alan Coulter and his brother-in-law, they’re both photographers,” said John.
