GARY McNabb was a happy man on Sunday night when he was announced as the Short Mat Players’ Tour’s players’ player of the year.
The Trillick man came out on top in the voting, beating England’s Alex Kley into second and fellow Tyrone bowler, Mark Beattie into third.
Sion Man, Beattie, enjoyed another stellar season on ‘Tour’ to end the 2019-20 campaign as the world number one ranked player. He claimed two gold medal successes and a silver during the season and raked in 18.4% of the total vote.
“He’s always in there or there abouts, he’s a hard opponent to stay ahead of. You need to be on top of your game which shows in that he’s the number one ranked player,” McNabb said of the Foyle Zone man.
