MOURNE Celtic have confirmed that the club is not folding and will continue to compete in the Saturday Morning League.
Last season Celtic had teams competing in both the Saturday Morning League and the Fermanagh and Western League however the Strabane-based club has confirmed that they are pulling out of the latter due to financial reasons brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.
Club stalwart Chris Cunningham this week cleared up the confusion and categorically stated that Mourne Celtic as a club were still very much in business.
“We as a club are not folding,” said Mr Cunningham.
“The Saturday Morning League will be up and running next month, the start date hasn’t actually been confirmed yet. As far as that goes it’s full steam ahead.”
Cunningham didn’t rule out returning to the Fermanagh and Western at some point in the future if circumstances allowed.
