Dergview will meet Coleraine in the semi-final of the North West Senior Cup after brushing aside the challenge of Maiden City at Darragh Park yesterday evening (Tuesday)
Goals by Mattie Kirk (2), Adam Buchanan, Niall McGinley and Lee McNulty secured a comprehensive 5-0 victory for Ivan Sproule’s men and they now face the Bannsiders who accounted for neighbours Portstewart 2-0 courtesy of goals from Curtis Allen and Omagh’s Jamie Glackin.
In the other semi-final Institute defeated Strabane Athletic 3-1 with Alex Pomeroy, Cormac Burke and Aaron McGurk finding the net for Sean O’Connor’s side while Aodhan Doherty replied for the NI Intermediate League outfit.
Stute will now meet Limavady who defeated Ballinamallard United 4-3 on penalties at Ferney Park. Dean Brown had given the Roesiders the lead early in the second half but that advantage was quickly cancelled out by Darragh McBrien.
There was no further scoring and in the dreaded shootout the visiting keeper denied Chris Kelly and Ryan Campbell to see his team into the last four.
