Eoin O’Neill ‘Sweeps’ the field

SATURDAY, October 10th, saw the first of Strabane Golf Club’s 15-hole Club Sweeps as we enter the non-qualifying season, and it was Eoin O’Neill (5) who carded a fine level par round converting to 35pts who took the spoils.

This was good enough to win by one over Jonathan McGonagle (19) and Kevin Keegan (18) who took second and third respectively after countback, whilst Darren Crawford (5) scooped the gross.

The preceding midweek saw Week 3 of this season’s Thursday Club, where again good scoring over the 15 holes was the order of the day. Noel O’Kane (26) did enough on this occasion to take the win ahead of Gerry Quinn (20) and Martin Roarty (17) after countback was required to split all three men after equal returns of 34pts.

Damian McGranaghan (6) took the gross whilst there were also another eight twos on the day as Thursday Club members keep an eye on race for the King of the Twos crown.
