DERG motocross sensation Cole McCullough is set to compete in Europe next season following sensational performances in the Cezch Republic and at the Coupe de I’Avenir international team competition in Belgium last weekend.
Representing Ireland in the 85cc class, the talented McCullough recorded tenth, sixth and thirteenth place finishes against 40 of the very best young riders in the world.
The 13-year-old spearheaded the Irish challenge and in the process smoked all the top English riders.
Cole has become one of the hottest young properties in the sport and his father Philip, a former World Championship competitor, said his recent performances merely underlined his opinion that his son is ready for the next step.
“Cole finished ninth overall. His sixth place in the second race on the Sunday was probably the best I ever seen him ride. He rode very well in the Czech Republic at the beginning of September but Sunday surpassed that,” he said.
