TYRONE Gaels were among those honoured at the 2025 O’Neill’s Ulster GAA President’s Awards, held recently at the Slieve Russell Hotel in County Cavan.
More than 200 guests from across the province attended the ceremony, hosted by radio broadcaster Damien Donohoe, which celebrated a successful year for Ulster teams in 2025 while recognising the outstanding contribution of individuals across the province. Awards highlighted excellence across all codes and acknowledged dedication in community and volunteering, coaching, education and culture.
Guests were welcomed on arrival by the Drumlane Scór group, with renowned violinist Patricia Treacy providing superb musical entertainment throughout the evening.
One of the principal Awards, the O’Neills Ulster GAA Lifetime Service honour, was presented to Eskra’s Mickey McGoldrick in recognition of his unstinting contribution to the GAA down the years.
Meanwhile Beragh Red Knights were the winners of the Ulster GAA Healthy Club Award, presented in association with Ulster Independent Clinic.
The club have shown a huge dedication to health & wellbeing having achieved Gold status for the second time in the Healthy Club Programme in 2025. Their facilities include an inclusive Wellbeing Room that has been designed specifically with people who are neurodiverse. Their walking track continues to be used very regularly by the community, and they have taken part in Ireland Lights Up and the Every Step Counts challenge.
The Inclusion, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Award went to Dungannon Thomas Clarkes which has taken tremendous strides in recent years to reach out within its own community to others.
There was double joy for Dungannon as Caroline McGrath scooped the Coaching Award, while various Tyrone All-Ireland winning teams were also recognised- the County Under-20 and Minor footballers, the county Ladies footballers; and the Carrickmore Eire Ogs Camogs.
