Greencastle 5 has been switched to Sunday

The annual Greencastle 5 has been switched to Sunday owing to the latest lockdown restrictions announced by the NI Executive.

The 35th edition of the traditional run was supposed to take place on Boxing Day but all sporting activity has been suspended from December 26.

This year’s run won’t, as is traditional, welcome hundreds of hardy runners keen to burn off their Christmas dinners through the foothills of the Sperrins.

Instead, it will be an elite only race for a select group of top athletes.
