ALL things considered the fifth round draw for the Craig Stanfield Junior Cup was relatively kind to the remaining Fermanagh and Western teams.
Despite having seven local representatives in the last-16, Wednesday evening’s draw threw up just one all Fermanagh and Western tie – and that was the meeting of holders Dergview Reserves and Enniskillen Town United.
Town defeated the Derg men 4-2 in a league game just before Christmas, although the defending champions have been given home advantage.
Of the other ties, Irvinestown Wanderers would appear to have been handed the toughest assignment with an away tie at 2022 winners and last year’s beaten semi-finalists, Coalisland Athletic.
Fermanagh and Western Division One leaders Tummery Athletic will fancy their chances of progress after being paired away with Downpatrick, as indeed will Enniskillen Rangers, who are at home to Lurgan Town Reserves.
Lisbellaw United and NFC Kesh will also be reasonably happy with their draws. Kyle McCleery’s ‘Law travel to Clough Rangers while Ryan Campbell’s Kesh visit Lincoln Courts, 2-1 victors over Castlederg United last time out.
All ties have been pencilled in for Saturday, February 3 and will be played to a finish with extra-time and penalties if required.
