Accies coach looking forward to Tyrone derby with Dungannon

AFTER watching his side lose narrowly to Bangor in his belated first game in charge of Omagh Accies on Saturday of last week, new head coach Glenn Kyle immediately started looking ahead to his maiden Tyrone derby with Dungannon.

The sides will lock horns at the Thomas Mellon Playing Fields this afternoon and having been generally satisfied by his team’s performance in County Down, Kyle is reluctant to make wholesale changes to his squad ahead of his home bow.

“There’s plenty for us to take into Dungannon at home, which is a game I’m looking forward to,” he observed.

“They are a good team as well, from the league above us in the All-Ireland, so we’ll try to get a win at home to get us up and running.

“We’ll build on what we did [on Saturday], I’m not going to change too much. There will be a few changes, just one or two to give a couple of opportunities but we’re trying to build combinations and understanding so we don’t want to make too many changes.

“Balance is the secret. If we can get the balance of changing one or two here and there but not too many, then you don’t disrupt the kind of team play we’re trying to bring to Omagh.

“We have a team that could develop into a very good one, it has years and years ahead of it.”
