Runners out in force at Drumragh races

THE annual Lynch’s Vivo Clanabogan-sponsored Drumragh 10K and 5K road races, organised by Drumragh Sarsfields, with the Enda Dolan Foundation proved a massive success on Saturday afternoon.

Almost 400 entrants were received, with 145 runners choosing to tackle the 10K race, while 225 took on the five kilometre event as special guest, Tyrone star Niall Sludden cheered them on alongside a throng of supporters.

In the end, Eoin Mullan won the 10K race from Sean Diamond and Dylan Sloan, while Eamonn Donnelly was the first over-40 home, with Barry McElduff taking the over-50s honours, Kieran Taggart the over 60s and David Quinn the under-18 accolade.

In the ladies standings, Megan McLaughlin was the first woman home ahead of Dervla Dolan and Alana Casey. Sarah Hemphill sealed the over-40s honours, Fiona Nicholl the over-50s and Theresa Mullin the over-60s.

In the 5K, Ryan Pritchard took the men’s honours from Darragh O’Neill and Rory Dolan, while Ellie Robinson won the female title ahead of Coblaith McKenna and Elaine Kerlin.
