FOX Lodge skipper Aaron Heywood is disappointed that professional Cebo Tshiki isn’t now returning to Ballymagorry for a third spell, but he hopes that will present opportunities for younger players to shine in the first team.
Tshiki was a popular face during his two seasons with the Foxies in 2017 and 2018 and they were delighted to have resigned him for 2021. Unfortunately, the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has put those plans on hold and Heywood believes his club will make the best of a bad situation when the season gets underway this weekend.
“Without the professional, we’re disappointed we can’t get him over, but at the same time it will give other lads, the younger boys a proper go at it,” he said.
“Hopefully they can stick their hands up for the season ahead. They got some time last year and they will get more opportunities again this season.”
