Tyrone fail in bid to get red cards quashed at Croke Park hearing

TYRONE quartet Padraig Hampsey, Kieran McGeary, Peter Harte and Michael McKernan look set to miss Sunday’s league clash against Kildare after a Croke Park hearing last night.

The four were dismissed by referee David Gough following a melee in a Division One match Armagh at the Athletic Grounds on February 6 and under the particular citation, fell victim to a proposed one-game suspension.

Tyrone appealed the decision, but Croke Park’s Hearings Committee determined that there were no grounds to exonerate the four so Tyrone will be without four key men this Sunday. It remains to be seen whether Tyrone will take the matter further.
