Volunteers put in a huge effort during club’s busy schedule

With a second week of competitive golf now complete it’s safe to say that the novelty of a return to action is showing no signs of wearing off any time soon for the members at Strabane GC.

With three singles qualifying competitions successfully organised again it is unlikely that many other club memberships in the country are able to enjoy such an amount of competitive action.

As such, it would be remiss not to appreciate the effort which is being volunteered behind the scenes, no mean feat considering the time offered up by individuals to arrange these competitions and ensure that all scores (over 450 of them across the three competitions last week alone!) are manually entered and verified, whilst adhering to all the required Return protocol guidelines, both on and off the course.

The start of the week saw Micky Arnold (14) take top spot with 41pts, one clear of a number 40pts returns.  Ben Corry (5) and Ciaron Neeson (10) were the best of these to take second and third respectively, with Ben’s tidy -1 back nine enough to secure second place after countback.  Kevin Gallagher (3) continued his good form to take the gross with 35pts.
