Dreaming of a ‘Black and White’ Christmas

CLUBS throughout Ireland have for many years envied the music and dancing talents within Omagh St Enda’s whose record in All-Ireland Scor and Scor Na nOg competitions is unequalled.

Now, in the absence of being able to perform in front of live audiences due to the pandemic, many of the club’s artists have got together to produce a new CD.

It’s entitled ‘I’m Dreaming of a Black and White Christmas’ and promises to be a top-seller for the festive period, especially considering that proceeds are going to charity.

The CD has been organised over recent weeks by Sinead Duddy and Mary Colton.

‘I’m Dreaming of a Black and White Christmas’ has 22 Christmas-themed songs from a host of the local singers.

“This year has been challenging for all of us, so we decided it was time to bring a little Christmas cheer for the festive season,” said Mary. “We are fortunate that our club is bursting with local talent and want to thank all of them for agreeing to take part in such a worthy cause.”

The singers and musicians featuring on the album include club members past and present, from six-years-old upwards.

St Enda’s club chairman, Conor Sally, thanked everyone involved, especially the children who performed exceptionally under the guidance of Beth McElhatton and Jade Doherty.

Proceeds from the CD, priced at £10, will go towards the Omagh branch of St Vincent de Paul.

They are also available at St Enda’s Food Appeal this Sunday, between 10am and 4pm at Healy Park. Due to Covid-19 restrictions and for public safety reasons please put money in an envelope if you wish to buy one on Sunday from club volunteers.
