John Caldwell shooting: Man arrested in Coalisland

Detectives investigating the attempted murder of Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell on February 22 in Omagh have  arrested a 47-year-old man.

The man was arrested last night under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

He was arrested following the search of a property in the Coalisland area, and has been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

A 60-year-old man, arrested in connection with the investigation into the attempted murder of Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell on February 22 in the Killyclogher Road area of Omagh, has been released following questioning.

The investigation continues.
