High-value jewellery stolen from Omagh store

RINGS worth thousands of pounds have been stolen from a jewellers in Omagh in a brazen daylight theft that has prompted urgent appeals for information.

The incident happened shortly after 5pm on Wednesday at The Goldmine Jewellers on Kevlin Avenue. According to the store’s owners, two men entered the premises and made off with a tray of high-value rings before fleeing in a silver car, which was later spotted near Scarffes Entry.

In a statement to the Tyrone Herald, the owners confirmed the scale of the theft and expressed relief that no one was injured. “Two men entered the premises and took off with a large tray of rings,” they said. “They were seen getting into a silver car, possibly with a southern registration. Thankfully no one was injured during the incident.”

One suspect is described as being of slim build with short dark hair, wearing a black coat and white trousers. The second man had a beard and was seen wearing a white hat and blue jeans.

The Goldmine owners continued, “We have CCTV footage of the incident inside the store; however, we are appealing for anyone that may have seen the men or know any information relating to the case. If so, feel free to contact ourselves or contact the police on 101.”

The PSNI has also appealed for witnesses to come forward, describing the theft as a ‘high-value’ incident.

“Police are appealing for information following a report of a theft at a commercial premises in Omagh on Wednesday, April 23.

“It was reported shortly after 5.05pm that two men entered a jewellery store in the Kevlin Avenue area. They continued to take a number of items, including high-value jewellery, before exiting the premises.”

Police have asked anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area or who may have dashcam footage to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1211 of 23/04/25.
