Care For Cancer call cyclists to the Wild Atlantic Way

A LOCAL respiratory nurse specialist, whose work has often brought her into the orbit of Care For Cancer nurses, is organising a charity cycle along a beautiful section of Donegal’s Wild Atlantic Way to raise money for this invaluable charity.

Along with friends and colleagues, Katrina Donnelly is planning to do her bit for Care For Cancer through a charity cycle around one of Ireland’s most awe-inspiring settings.

In the hope of getting the conditions conducive to an enjoyable ride, and of course to maximise the participants they can recruit and money they can raise, the cycle will take place, with luck, over two sunny days in June.

Any willing participants who like the idea of raising money for a charity who, unfortunately, will come into all of our lives at one time or another, should ensure that they have June 4 and 5 booked off work.

And to negate the possibility of anybody being discouraged from signing up on account of their inferior ability, two routes have been mapped out; the more experienced cyclists will cover 200-miles over the two days, while those who favour a more moderation mileage will have the option of doing 100-miles – hopefully, with the sun on their backs.

Speaking with Katrina, she said, “I wanted to do something for Care For Cancer, an organisation valued by all who find themselves during their cancer journey.

“I deal with them regularly and always find them helpful in a quiet and unassuming way,” said Katrina.

“This organisation needs money to continue making people’s cancer journeys a little bit easier,” she added.
