LOCAL Sinn Féin team members Nuala McAleer and Deirdre Varsani who work in MLA Colm Gildernew’s office, along with Councillor Seán McGuigan delivered donated items to the For You group last Friday.
A team from For You will be travelling across Europe to deliver items of need to Ukrainian refugees in Poland.
The Sinn Féin team have already donated a significant batch of hygiene items including mother and baby products and wanted to assist with food items and water too.
South Tyrone MLA Colm Gildernew MLA said, “We want to extend our best wishes to the For You team who are embarking on the journey across Europe to deliver items of need to Ukrainian refugees. We know that people across the South Tyrone area, from schools, to sports clubs, are yet again stepping up to the plate to help those in need, both at home and in other parts of the world. It is at times like this that we show the very best of who we are as a community and live out the Irish saying of ‘Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine’ we live in the shelter of each other.”
