THE Dungannon Rotary Club raised an amazing £16,324 for charity as part of the annual ‘Tree of Remembrance and Hope’ fundraising campaign.
Surpassing their fundraising efforts of previous years, the latest collection took place in the build-up to Christmas.
All monies raised will benefit local charities such as NSPCC, St Vincent de Paul, the Southern Area Hospice, Tesco charity partners and Rotary charities.
President of Dungannon Rotary Club, Richard Byrne, congratulated everyone involved and expressed his sincerest thanks to all those who volunteered.
He said, “A heartfelt thanks goes to all our corporate and private sponsors and to all the Tesco customers who support us year on year.
“Every little has certainly helped, as this was our best year to-date. Thanks also to all the volunteers who gave their time to stand and promote the various charities.
“The funds raised make a huge difference to the ongoing support available, by the various charities, to our community.
“We acknowledge that perhaps you, a member of our community, might not have needed any support from these charities, but it’s reassuring to know that, due to your generosity, charities can continue to provide services
and support to those who
need it.
“The benchmark is getting higher every year, but so is our reliance on charities, so thank you to everyone involved.”
