Sperrins Sculptural Trail shortlisted for award

ONE of the district’s most impressive recent additions has been revealed as a finalist in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Awards 2024.

The Sperrins Sculptural Trail has been shortlisted in both the Public Sector Project and Community Benefit Project categories and will be judged by an expert judging panel. The project comprises of three giant art installations that have been created to showcase the geology, archaeology, and heritage of the Sperrins.

They are located at three sites in the Sperrins at Mullaghcarn, along the Glenelly Valley near Cranagh, and at Davagh Forest.

The entries are shortlisted across five categories – Residential Development, Community Benefit, Heritage, Public Sector, Refurbishment-Revitalisation.

The ceremony showcases the most inspirational initiatives and developments in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. They recognise outstanding achievement, teamwork and companies.

Chair of the Northern Ireland RICS Awards judging panel, Michael Hannaway, said, “It is inspiring to see such inspirational projects in Northern Ireland shortlisted for these awards. It is a true testament to the dedication of surveying professionals despite challenging times in recent years. I wish all of the projects the best of luck.”

Companies still have the opportunity to enter an additional six categories – to be judged nationally – and have until April 26 to submit their entry.
