A group of inspiring youngsters from Strabane have raised over £12,000 which they kindly donated to Foyle Hospice.
Big-hearted Corin Kelly Herron, 15, teamed up with his best friend Colt and several young remarkable volunteers who managed to gather up an amazing £12,160 through various fundraisers.
The teenagers gave up their spare time, working tirelessly for months hosting events which included a sea splash, street collections, a fun day and a grand draw.
This is the fourth year that the youngsters have organised fundraisers for local charities, and over the course of that time have raised over £20,000 in total.
Foyle Hospice community fundraiser, Ailbhe McDaid praised the efforts of these extraordinary teens saying, “It was a pleasure to work with Corin and the group of amazing young people.
“It is great to see young people working together and supporting local charities.
“I couldn’t do my work without the support of our local community.”
Without the support of the people of the north west and beyond, Foyle Hospice would not be providing specialist palliative care services to patients and families.
Its vital services are provided to patients and families free of charge. Donations and fundraisers hosted by members of the local community like Corin and his friends have helped to build the Hospice and continue to keep it running on a day-to-day basis.
“We are always grateful for your support!” Ailbhe added.
