STAFF and residents of a Cookstown care home raised more than £400 for charity by holding a two-hour sponsored cycle in the entrance area of their nursing floor.
The initiative at Weavers House, organised by the home’s well-being assistant, Grace, aimed to raise funds for Children in Need while encouraging cross-community relationships and spreading joy.
Care staff, domestics, admin, and management all took turns on the cycle. Residents from various floors also joined in, with a total of 15 participants throughout the cycling extravaganza.
The collective efforts resulted in an impressive £435 raised for Children in Need, showcasing the community spirit and dedication of everyone involved. The funds will be directly donated to Children in Need to support their crucial work.
Kitchen assistant, Jenny O’Connor, expressed her appreciation for the teamwork.
She said, “Amazing. Well done to you all. I’m lucky to work with this team.”
The sponsored cycle not only contributed to a significant charitable cause, but also served as a testament to the strong sense of community within Weavers House.
