OMAGH Volunteer Centre will mark Volunteers’ Week 2025, which runs from June 3 to June 9, by celebrating the vital role volunteers play in supporting local community groups and organisations.
Throughout the week, volunteers will be recognised for their dedication, with certificates awarded in appreciation of the time and energy they give to local causes.
Ahead of the celebrations, a special reception was held on Monday, May 27, by the Chairperson of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, recognising the contributions of volunteers from across the district.
As part of the initiative, volunteers can also receive an EPIC Award (Empowering People in Communities), which is open to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. The award acknowledges different levels of commitment: Bronze – 50 hours; Silver – 100 hours; Gold – 200 hours (within any 12-month period)
Council buildings across Fermanagh and Omagh will be lit up during Volunteers’ Week as a show of appreciation.
Omagh Volunteer Centre – funded by the Department for Communities – supports volunteering locally and provides services for both volunteers and community groups. With many flexible and remote options now available, it’s easier than ever to get involved.
