BEAUTIFUL landscapes, seascapes, abstract works and poignant portraits greeted crowds who attended the launch of Bernadette McGoldrick’s art exhibition in Omagh.
Described by the Omagh artist as a ‘riot of colour’, the exhibition titled ‘Eclectic 2.0’ welcomed a full house for its official opening, and will remain on striking display at the Strule Arts Centre until Saturday, April 26.
This is Bernadette’s second exhibition to-date – the first being titled, of course, ‘Eclectic’ which took pride of place in the Strule Arts Centre all of six years ago.
Speaking to the Ulster Herald, Bernadette said that she started painting when her children transitioned into adulthood.
The creative craft paved a way for the former hairdresser to ‘escape from reality’ while gifting her with a sense of happiness – and she hopes that she can bring that same escapism and emotion to others upon viewing her work.
“I’ve always loved being creative, and I love painting,” Bernadette, whose work can be found on Facebook by visiting her page titled B’s Art, reflected. “It has brought me such joy. ‘Eclectic 2.0 s a collection of paintings and art that I have thoroughly enjoyed working on.
“When I sit down to make something, I do it because I love art, and it is a way to escape and make me happy. I hope when people see my work that it will be able to make them happy too.”
A spokesperson for Strule Arts Centre has encouraged all local creatives, curious souls and art lovers to pop in and explore Bernadette’s stunning collection.
“A huge congratulations to local artist Bernadette McGoldrick on the launch of her beautiful exhibition, Eclectic 2.0,” they said.
“It was a fantastic evening celebrating local talent, with friends and family coming together to admire the stunning collection. From realism to abstract, her work showcases both skill and creativity, with guests praising the amazing variety of pieces on display!”
If you missed the launch, Bernadette McGoldrick’s exhibition, Eclectic 2.0 is open until Saturday, April 26 in the Strule Gallery during the art centre’s opening hours, and admission is free. Pieces are available for purchase through the Strule Arts Centre Box Office.
