Local theatre welcomes ‘Robin Hood’ and the Merry Men for special

It is panto season… YES IT IS. And the Craic Theatre in Coalisland has returned with another highly-entertaining pantomime for 2024.

This year, they will follow the adventures of ‘Robin Hood’; bringing audiences on an exciting adventure from Coalisland all the way to Sherwood Forest.

Written and directed by Conor Begley and Sarah-Jane McCrory, it seems that all is not well in Nottingham, as the evil Sheriff is growing rich on the many taxes he is enforcing on the townspeople… But he may just be about to become even richer!

With the arrival of two heirs of vast fortunes who have been trusted into his care, he hatches an evil plan to make sure their inheritance is given to him.

It is down to Robin Hood to save the day, with a little help from his Merry Men, Maid Marion, and, of course, a Dame or two!

Starring Ellie Taggart as Robin Hood, the show will also feature one of the Craic Youth Theatre’s newest members, Becca Kelly as Maid Marion, as well as The Merry Men, that will include Astijus Jakubaitus as Little John, Grace McKenna as Will Scarlet, Cara Hilley as Friar Tuck and Ellyn Cardwell as Alana Dale.

With choreography from Lynda Wright, you can guarantee that this stunning, talented cast will put on a highly-entertaining performance following the success of last year’s pantomime, ‘Enpanto’.

The cast are looking forward to hitting the stage on January 18 for nine performances up until January 28, including a special autism-friendly show on January 24 at 7.30pm, and a Sunday matinee. It is sure to be an exciting year for the Craic Theatre, as they prepare for many other highly entertaining productions in the months to come including, ‘Oz Over The Rainbow’, and the classic musical, ‘Grease’. Tickets and more information about Conor Begley and Sarah-Jane McCrory’s production of Robin Hood are available online via www.craicartscentre.co.uk, or you can call the Craic Theatre box office on 02887741100.
