THE annual motorcycle ride out in memory of the late Basil McKane, who passed away in 2014, will take place on Sunday, June 27.
The popular memorial event has become part of the motorcycing calendar and has raised huge sums of money for an array of charities.
Mr O’Kane, who was 51 when he passed away, was part of a small local group who loved nothing more than getting out on the open roads on his motorbiike on a Sunday afternoon.
His weekly companions and good friends Trevor Boggs and Bill McGrew keep his memory alive with the event every year and are hopeful there will be continue to be a great response.
The motorbike aficionados enjoy a wonderful 110-mile scenic drive from Omagh to Portrush taking in the fabulous scenery along the way.
The chosen charities to benefit from this, the seventh ride-out, will be Aware NI and Alzheimer’s Society NI.
Any riders interested in joining the charity memorial ride out are asked to meet at the car park beside Omagh bus depot at 10am where hot food will be available to purchase. Riders will move out at 11am. Minimum donation is £10 per bike, trike or scooter.
Issuing an open invitation for anyone to join them, the organisers are hoping for an even better turnout this year for the extremely worthy causes.
