Police have confirmed the that the body of Jordan Gallagher has been found.
Jordan went missing three weeks ago, last seen near his home in Ballycolman home on the evening of Saturday, March 2.
Since then, the Strabane man’s family and friends, with the help of a number of organisations, have been searching to recover his body.
Last night (March 25), Jordan’s remains were recovered from the River Foyle in Strabane.
Speaking with WeAreTyrone, the PSNI said, “Formal identification and a post mortem will take place in due course, however, police are not treating the death as suspicious at this time.
“Police are liaising with the family of Jordan Gallagher who was reported missing to police on Saturday, March 2 2024.”
The search for Jordan was conduced by Community Search and Rescue Service Western Division, Foyle Search and Rescue, Search & Rescue Dog Association Ireland North, Three River Searches, as well as members of the public and Strabane Sigersons GAA.
Dozens on tributes have been paid on social media since last night, several of which described his as a ‘gentleman’.
3 Rivers Search and Rescue said, “Volunteers of 3 Rivers Search and Rescue would like to send our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Jordan Gallagher, may he rest in eternal peace.”
